With the recent hot spell in mind, coupled with a very hot and stifling morning, only 34 ladies showed up to putt on July 13. Those 34 ladies came with very generous hearts, aimed at helping the less fortunate at a time when grocery prices are on the rise. Seeing the results of the Lady Putters’ annual Christmas in July collection, Vicki Turner, operations manager for the Green Valley and Amado Food Banks, said, “Everyone must have been in the holiday spirit! We ended up with 107 pounds of food and $915!”
