Yes, a shamble, but that was a good thing! It was the name of the golf game for the day and played with your sweetheart or partner of choice. A fun game for all participants! Each team chose the best ball off the tee and hit his/her own ball from there. Sixty eight golfers teed off on the Coyote Course for the 1:30 p.m. shotgun and the following pairs took home the prizes:
Flight A: Sue and John Gunter 33; Jackie Hallett and Larry Kowahl 33; Gerry and Dick Kohlman 36
Flight B: Sharon Fletcher and Owen Schwerdtfeger 28; Linda and Ray Roeller 30; Kathy Coleman and Bill Anderson 31
Flight C: Susan and Bob Stacey 32; Gayle and Dan Lafferty 34; Mary Ann and Steve Jenkins 35
Flight D: Mary and Charlie Anderson 31; Diana and Jerry Thorne 32; Carole and Jim Rogerson 34
Ties were broken on Coyote holes six and nine.
After golf everyone gathered for social hour while Joel Jaress, local club Pro, posted scores.
Marci Yenerich, Lady Niner president, welcomed everyone prior to dinner. Prizes were distributed and photos taken. Everyone then filled their plates with steak or salmon plus the many delicious sides from the buffet. The room was ablaze with Sweetheart Red, the color for the day!
Many thanks go to the tournament organizers: Shirley Gray, Cheri Sipe, Jan Topolski, Bonnie Smith and Marci Yenerich. It was a great day with great companionship, great food and great fun!
