Quail Creek celebrated the 4th of July in style as we paid our respects to our veterans of all services. The day started with the cadets from Sahuarita High School Junior ROTC raising the American and Arizona flags. Commander Bradley Roberson spoke about the Declaration of Independence. Bill Foraker played patriotic music for the crowd to enjoy. Members of the Performing Arts Guild Chorus led the audience in several songs, including a medley of songs from each of the armed forces.
Residents decorated their golf carts in patriotic colors and headed out at 7:30 a.m. for a parade around the loop led by the Santa Rita Fire District fire truck and Uncle Sam, Jeff Krueger, and Lady Liberty, Ellen Entwistle. There was a slide show in the Clubhouse with photos of veterans living in Quail Creek. In the afternoon there was a barbecue meal and pool party at the Canyon Club and Bingo in the Clubhouse. Thanks to the banquet staff and Activities Council for making this a special holiday that we hope you were able to share.
