The general meeting of TWOQC club will be held January 26 in the Madera Clubhouse Ballroom at 10:00 a.m. The program for the morning will be Free Yourself in Tucson with guest speaker Anne Maxon from the VisitTucson organization. It will acquaint attendees about the many fascinating attractions and cuisine to be found around town. Members will learn about great restaurants to try, off the beaten track fun activities, the art and cultural scene and interesting day trips. Anne will demonstrate how to use the website for VisitTucson to find topics such as 100 Things To Do and 23 Miles of Great Mexican Food. It’s a good opportunity to inspire free spirits to discover and explore the uniqueness that exists in Tucson and southern Arizona. Tucson unique door prizes will be awarded.
Prior to the meeting at 9:00 a.m. in the Madera lobby, tickets will go on sale for the February 6 Luncheon and Fashion Show to benefit cancer research. Tickets are $25 per person. Checks should be made out to TWOQC Charity Account. Friends wishing to sit together should purchase tickets together. Donations for raffle gift baskets can be brought to the meeting.
TWOQC cookbooks, A Shared Table, will also be for sale at 9:00 a.m. Purchase price for cookbooks is $15 each or buy ten, get one free. All proceeds from the sale of cookbooks go to support Genesis House, a local charity that provides shelter and advocacy for victims of domestic violence.
The meeting is open to all TWOQC members and guests. Those interested in the organization who have not previously attended a TWOQC function are also invited to attend. Members that have not renewed dues for 2015 should be aware that the roster will be revised on January 30 to include only paid up members.
