For their summer project this year, The Women of Quail Creek’s (TWOQC) Community Outreach Committee is collecting items to support the summer program for youth sponsored by Sahuarita Parks and Recreation. This is a seven-week program for children ages 6-12. Craft items like Elmer’s glue, markers, colored pencils, clothes pins (both clip and regular), cotton balls, crayons and paints, shaving cream, and other craft items you might remember from your days at day camp are on the Rec Department’s Wish List. They can also use paper plates, cups, paper towels, napkins, and utensils.
Sports equipment needed for older youth programs later in the summer include volleyballs, soccer balls, and basketballs.
A complete listing may be found on TWOQC’s GroupWorks page. Items may be placed in the boxes in the clubhouse lobby until noon on May 20 when they will be delivered to Sahuarita Parks and Recreation staff.
Checks payable to TWOQC may be mailed to Peggy McGee, 1908 E. Longspur Place, Green Valley, AZ 85614-6039, or dropped off at her home.
