Each year the Nurses of Quail Creek pick out a book to read and review. This year we picked the Frozen River by Ariel Lawson.
It is a historical fiction about Martha Ballad, a midwife, healer,and diarist in 1789 Maine. The book’s story is based on her diary that she wrote in daily, about the care she delivered. Besides being busy with delivering most of the town’s babies, she investigates a murder and scandal.
We met at La Posada Java for coffee and breakfast. We had a lively discussion about the book and what’s happening in our lives now.
Our next gathering is Tuesday July 21, 4 to 6 p.m. at the Quail Creek Grill for a Happy Hour catch up. Our Hostess will be Shaunna Simmons.
Also coming up in August is Energy Method Work/Meditation, the instructor and leader Linda Kline, one of our own nurses.
All active and retired Quail Creek Nurses are welcome. We have no fee for joining our group.
