Every Tuesday and Thursday about a dozen residents arrive at the Anza Athletic Center around 6:55 a.m. for a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class. Instructor Laura McMurtry, PharmD, gets them to work muscles they didn’t even know they had. By the end of each session, they are wide awake and more ready to face the day than half a dozen cups of java would provide. Despite the physical and mental effort, they manage to keep their sense of humor and have fun.
