The Women of Quail Creek and Relay for Life are sponsoring the Power of Purple luncheon and fashion show on Friday, February 24. This annual event has proven to be one of the most popular and most successful fundraising events in Quail Creek. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society and help to support research and development right here in southern Arizona.
This year’s fashion show will feature fashions from Dillard’s with a trunk show starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Madera Clubhouse. The trunk show will be followed at 11:30 a.m. by a luncheon of steak and wine salad, featuring wine-marinated grilled flank steak over greens with caramelized onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and blueberries. Dessert will feature white cupcakes with lavender frosting. A no-host bar will be available at 11:00 a.m.
The fashion show will begin immediately following lunch and will feature a variety of models of all shapes and sizes. Fashions are expected to include day, evening and casual wear.
Another popular feature of the annual fashion show is the awarding of several raffle baskets with gifts from local vendors and artisans. Raffle winners will be announced throughout the event.
Tickets to the luncheon are $25, a portion of which is tax-deductible. Consult What’s Happening at Quail Creek or check The Women of Quail Creek website, womenqc.com for ticket sales dates and locations.
This year there will be a new opportunity to increase donations to the American Cancer Society (ACS) by sponsoring a table. You may sponsor a table for $100. A sponsor sign could honor a cancer survivor, memorialize someone who has lost their cancer battle or display a business or family name.
For a $150 donation, sponsors get the sign at the luncheon plus have a track sign at the Relay for Life on April 8 at the Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse and sponsor designee name on the tee shirt worn by Relay participants.
Contact Carol Shelton at [email protected] or Ginny Hutcheson at [email protected] to sign up for a sponsorship. You may pay with cash, check payable to American Cancer Society or credit card. The donation is fully tax-deductible.
