In coming months The Women of Quail Creek plan a number of events designed to support both the Green Valley/Sahuarita and Tucson communities. TWOQC has long prioritized philanthropy and community service as important parts of its mission. While we work on many of these projects, people throughout Quail Creek and beyond are encouraged to support and participate in these activities. You do not need to be a member of TWOQC to support these events; you simply need to show you care.
Honor Flight – TWOQC certainly didn’t start the Honor Flights for southern Arizona veterans, but we have actively supported the organization for several years. In September you can join members of TWOQC and other Quail Creek organizations by either sending off or welcoming home the 75 veterans who will take a charter flight to Washington, D.C. to visit their war memorials.
Scholarships for Women – The month of October has been designated Scholarship month by TWOQC. During that month a number of events including fascinating lectures and an Oktoberfest celebration will serve as fund-raising opportunities so that TWOQC can continue to support both high school women and women in transition as they further their education.
Support for Homeless Veterans – The annual clothing and household goods drive to support homeless veterans will take place in October. While cleaning your closets and paring down your household items, remember the many area veterans who are also in need of items you no longer want. Whether homeless or soon moving into housing, your items can make a difference to someone in need.
Youth on Their Own – Throughout the remaining summer months you can contribute much needed school supplies to help homeless and abandoned young people stay in school.
