Happy Birthday, Vincent Van Gogh!

Pam Hartwell-James and Inna Shames

On March 30 The Women of Quail Creek’s small group In My Kitchen decided to celebrate the inimitable Vincent Van Gogh’s artistic genius and, of course, his birthday with some culinary artistry of their own!

Hosted by Jean Tittle, the event’s highlights were French macaroons (or “macarons” as they are called in France), along with shortbread (“sables”).

In attendance were Dona Kubina, Dee Colicchia, Bobbi Fisher, Denise White, Joyce Shumate, Julie Martin, Mary Eastwood, Deb Wade, Patricia Fina Weaver, Jane Horn, and the hostess Jean Tittle.

To honor Van Gogh’s unique artistic vision was, of course, quite the challenge, so the group decided to assemble three wooden puzzles with three of his iconic paintings printed on them, and a good time was had by all! Or as Vincent might have said on a good day, “Tout le monde passé un bon moment!”
