What makes a successful fundraiser? If you ask The Women of Quail Creek’s (TWOQC) community outreach committee, their answer would be “Shoes!”
For more than two months the committee has been collecting men’s and women’s shoes to benefit United Community Health Centers’ pediatric dental and behavioral health programs.
The goal of 100 bags of shoes totaling 2,500 pairs was exceeded thanks to our very generous community. Closets have definitely been cleaned out so this project was a win for everyone. Once the shoes have been picked up, delivered and weighed by funds2orgs, a check will be sent to TWOQC for UCHC.
Special thanks goes to all the members of the community outreach committee who endured unusually warm weather in February and March while collecting and bagging shoes. We especially want to recognize Chris Reitz for organizing this fundraiser, Cindy Mueller and her husband Michael for shoe drop-off in their courtyard, and Sheryl Eddings for storing 100-plus bags of shoes in her garage.
