“On your left”
“Coming up behind you”
As a resident walking all over our beautiful neighborhood, I have been both startled and “hit” by someone coming behind me on both a sidewalk and dirt path.
There is an etiquette for passing someone in these situations. Per lifehacker.com, as well as many hiking websites, an indication of “Good morning,” “Excuse me,” or “Coming up behind you” or “On your left” in a voice loud enough to be heard is important. Just like vehicles should pass on the left, so should walkers/runners.
Bicycles are not allowed on the sidewalks or the dirt paths that act as sidewalks in Quail Creek.
Courtesy and kindness is a must on the trail!
