Election of Officers for 2026
At the monthly meeting on Jan. 17 the Democratic Club of Quail Creek (DCQC) elected a slate of officers for the 2026 term. They include Carol Smith, president; Mark Mandel, vice president; Nancy Neely, secretary; and Lois Connell, treasurer. Members actively participated in the selection process, confirming the leadership team that will guide the club’s activities and community engagement throughout the upcoming year.
We invite all community members to join our meetings to stay engaged and involved in our community. Your participation helps strengthen our shared goals and initiatives.
“Together, we can make a difference.” Our next meeting is on Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. in the Ocotillo Room.
Dave Gamrath, Tucson Hope Factory and Micro Shelter Coalition
Following the election segment, Dave Gamrath gave an interesting presentation on the success and positive impact Micro Housing has had on the homeless community. Like many communities, Tucson and Pima County are facing a homeless crisis. Transitional housing is critically needed and is an essential element in the development of permanent, affordable housing solutions.
Women in Blue Luncheon
The January luncheon took place at the Coyote Grill. Fifty-five women attended and enjoyed Kris Rous’ presentation reminding us how important it is to include “Mindful Self Compassion” in our lives.
More information about DCQC can be found on our website dcqc.page. At our next meeting on Feb. 21, our guest speaker will be Paul Eckerstrom, 1st Vice Chair of the Arizona Democratic Party.
