The 2024 Copper Quail Classic Member-Guest Tournament, themed “18 Shades of Green,” was held April 16-18. A record 116 golfers participated in this always-popular event, with more than 50% of the field receiving payouts! Thank you to our members who generously contributed both their time and financial resources through hole sponsorships and donations. A special thank you to Robson Resort Communities who once again was our Grand Sponsor!
This three-day event began with a practice round on Tuesday, followed by the always-fun and exciting horse race. Congratulations to the team winners: 1st Stacia Sower and Brittany Sower, 2nd Dena Knox and Alison Kertzman, 3rd Maureen Brealey and Colleen Reeve. This event would not be possible without the support of Josh Wilks and the Pro Shop staff, as well as numerous volunteers. Thank you!
Day two was a Partner Best Ball competition, with day three being a Chapman Scotch format. The Overall Low Gross winners, shooting an incredible 148, were Bobbi Jo Rathvon and her partner Janet Skaife. Kathy Printz and her partner Carolyn Apodaca were awarded Overall Low Net with an impressive score of 125, 19 strokes under par. Congratulations! A special thanks to Kathy Brogdon who created the original framed sgraffito art tiles presented to our winners.
Participants were treated to two delicious meals in the Madera ballroom, which was beautifully decorated in black and copper with hints of green. The banquet staff was, as always, incredible. At the end of the event, the gorgeous centerpieces, created by Maureen Brealey, were given to 16 lucky golfers.
Each participant received a personalized golf tote bag, a professional team photo taken by Jeff Krueger, and other gifts. More than 50 amazing items were raffled off, thanks to our awesome sponsors and residents. Once again, the Money Tree was a great success, with 10 lucky winners walking away with a portion of $1,570.
Our Member-Guest Committee consisting of Kathy Brogdon, Kate Schwartz, Michele Gazica, Robin Brannan, and Maureen Brealey worked tirelessly to organize this great event. A huge shout-out as well to all who volunteered their time to make it run smoothly.
