The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC) Community Outreach Committee closed out its year with a luncheon. They invited Kathy Zillman-Ogden, founder of Courtney’s Courage, to join them, and the highlight was the presentation of a check for $5,675 from the sale of Jim Click Raffle tickets, with the promise of an additional $1,000 coming from Jim Click.
Mr. Click decided to have a drawing of those who had RSVP’d and then attended the raffle ceremony in Tucson. Of the 169 organizations represented that day, 17 names were drawn, and each got $1,000. TWOQC was one of the winners, which made Kathy Zillman-Ogden extra-happy.
She wrote to the committee, “I cannot begin to thank TWOQC for selecting Courtney’s Courage as the beneficiary of their Community Outreach Program for their donations of gift cards totaling $1,570 and checks totaling $6,675. The pediatric cancer patients and their families from Green Valley and Sahuarita have already benefited from some of the gift cards, and the money will be used to help these families with rent, utilities, gas, and groceries. Also, a huge thank you to all of the people who donated gift cards and purchased Jim Click Raffle tickets to make all of this possible! Again, my heartfelt thanks to everyone!”
The Community Outreach Committee has been selling Jim Click Raffle tickets for several months to benefit Courtney’s Courage. Courtney’s Courage is a 501(c)(3) charity that supports families whose children are suffering from cancer and receiving treatment at Banner Hospital’s Diamond Children’s Medical Center. There are currently 10 children in the local area receiving treatment. Gift card donations were collected over a two-month period and were given to Courtney’s Courage in November.
The Community Outreach Committee is grateful to the Quail Creek residents for their generous support!
