Although it was 85 degrees in the shade by 8:30 a.m. on July 31, 45 Lady Putters were in a holiday spirit as they came to putt decked out in red and green and wearing Christmas jewelry. Their annual Christmas in July Food Drive for the Green Valley-Sahuarita Food Bank netted 92 pounds of groceries. Their cash donations of $355.00 will give the Food Bank over $3350.00 in buying power. Food Bank Executive Director Mary Jane Goodrick was especially appreciative of the support from the Putters since midsummer is a slow period for donations as people leave the area to escape the heat.
