Due to the impending closure of Nancy Pantz, the only remaining ladies fashion boutique in Green Valley, the seventh annual Valley Assistance Services fashion show and luncheon will now feature outfits from Souls Shoes and Ruby Jane. Both stores are in Tubac. The fashion show will be held on Friday, Aug. 21 at the Desert Diamond Casino, 1100 W Pima Mine Rd. in Sahuarita.
Cost for the event is $45, cash or checks payable to VAS, a 501(c)(3) that has been helping families and seniors in the Green Valley area for almost 50 years. Lunch will feature a spinach salad; fiesta chicken with bean, corn and tomato relish, tomatillo sauce, Spanish arroz con elote and seasonal vegetable; and crème brulée. Vegan and gluten-free meals are available upon request. Iced tea is included with the meal and there will be a cash bar with wines and a wide variety of adult beverages.
There will be a Silent Auction featuring over 100 prizes for the highest bidders. Prizes include spa packages, golf, jewelry, accessories, artwork, pet supplies, wine, food and lots of gift cards for entertainment and services.
If you have baskets that you no longer need, VAS can use the baskets in a variety of sizes to display many of the Silent Auction items. Baskets may be left at 1908 E Longspur Place, fourth house up from the Quail Creek waterfall.
This fundraiser will directly benefit families and individuals in VAS’ 2,700 rural square mile service area extending from Sahuarita to Rio Rico and Arivaca.
Tickets may be purchased at VAS, 3950 E Camino del Heroe (in the Springs HOA), Green Valley/Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce, Posada Java, Nancy Pantz (yes, they will still sell tickets until the end of July), and Ruby Jane’s, 25 Tubac Rd. They may also be ordered from Quail Creek resident Peggy McGee, 520-207-6188 or positivelypeggygv@gmail.com. Those who purchase tickets at the VAS office or online at valleyassistanceservices.org may also buy tickets using a credit card.
