Mark your calendar for Sept. 17 at 3 p.m. at the Kino Center and plan to attend the Candidates Meet and Greet!

Voting is the bedrock of our democratic system. And knowing who you’re voting for and what that person stands for is more critical than ever. The Candidate Meet and Greet is your opportunity to learn more about the people who are running for office and will represent you after this election.

Here’s a partial list of who will be in attendance:

Democratic candidate for U.S. House of Representatives CD 6, Kristen Engel

Kristen is a law professor at the University of Arizona specializing in environmental and administrative law. She filed a brief with the Supreme Court in one of the first cases to recognize that greenhouse gas emissions contributed to climate change. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to help protect families and the environment. Now she wants to represent us in Congress. www.engelforarizona.com

Democratic candidate for Secretary of State, Adrian Fontes

Adrian has spent his life fighting for justice and defending democracy. In 2016 he was elected Maricopa County Clerk and Recorder. As Recorder, he revolutionized the election system by ensuring that every eligible Arizonan had the access they needed to vote. Adrian enhanced the ballot-tracking technology and increased process transparency, winning recognition and awards from election organizations across the country. Now he wants to be Arizona’s next Secretary of State. electfontes.com

Democratic candidate for State Representative LD 19, Sanda Clark

Sanda came to the United States as a young musician to escape communism in Romania. “I studied at the University of Texas where I met my husband, a cellist who grew up in Tucson. The opportunities that came my way in this nation were greater than I could have ever imagined.” Now she wants to give back by representing the newly created district LD 19 in the Arizona state legislature. clark4az.com

Roseanna is currently serving her fourth term in the Arizona House of Representatives and is a ranking member on the Natural Resources, Energy and Water Committee. Additionally, she serves on the Transportation Committee. She has also sponsored several bills related to public safety, the environment, and public education. votegabaldon.com
