Mark your calendar for Sept. 17 at 3 p.m. at the Kino Center and plan to attend the Candidates Meet and Greet!
Voting is the bedrock of our democratic system. And knowing who you’re voting for and what that person stands for is more critical than ever. The Candidate Meet and Greet is your opportunity to learn more about the people who are running for office and will represent you after this election.
Here’s a partial list of who will be in attendance:
Democratic candidate for U.S. House of Representatives CD 6, Kristen Engel
Kristen is a law professor at the University of Arizona specializing in environmental and administrative law. She filed a brief with the Supreme Court in one of the first cases to recognize that greenhouse gas emissions contributed to climate change. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to help protect families and the environment. Now she wants to represent us in Congress. www.engelforarizona.com
Democratic candidate for Secretary of State, Adrian Fontes
Adrian has spent his life fighting for justice and defending democracy. In 2016 he was elected Maricopa County Clerk and Recorder. As Recorder, he revolutionized the election system by ensuring that every eligible Arizonan had the access they needed to vote. Adrian enhanced the ballot-tracking technology and increased process transparency, winning recognition and awards from election organizations across the country. Now he wants to be Arizona’s next Secretary of State. electfontes.com
