Cancer Support Group Offers ‘Therapy Through Creative Playing in Art’

The Touched by Cancer Support Group will again be meeting on the second Monday of every other month starting in January. Meetings will be in the Keno Conference Center on Jan. 9, March 13, May 8, July 10, Sept. 11, and Nov. 13 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The group will enjoy working on art projects that soothe the mind and soul while supporting everyone’s cancer journey. All are welcome to attend, whether they are currently in cancer treatment, a long-time cancer survivor, touched by someone else’s cancer journey, or just want to visit about cancer. The small art projects will not require artistic experience, and supplies will be provided at the meeting. (For those who wish to work on their own projects, acceptable supplies are paper, pen and ink, coloring books, colors, colored pencils, pastel chalk pencils, charcoal pencils, and scratchboard, but no paints, please.) The facilitators are Ginny Hutcheson, Terrie O’Dierno, and Catherine Jackson.
