Board Member Spotlight: Connie Bandstra

Connie Bandstra, Board President

Waking up to sunshine and warmer weather, winter turning to spring, and dessert blooming with bountiful colors, I am reminded how grateful and appreciative I am to be able to live in and call Quail Creek my home. I wish you a good day and thank you, Melani Caron, for asking me to share a bit about myself and the journey of being a resident for the past 12 years.

I’m Connie Bandstra, one of three residents serving on the board of directors. Over the next few months, you will be learning more about each of us, our backgrounds, and life’s journey as to how we ultimately decided to reside in and call Quail Creek home.

Growing up in a small, rural farming community in Central Iowa, I met and married my husband way back in the ‘70s. With his career in the corporate world, moving was a part of our lives, taking us to the East Coast, West Coast, and somewhere in the middle of the U.S. Moving gave me many opportunities to experience different cultures, lifestyles, food, weather, and habits while honing my own entrepreneurial business skills and desires in sales, hospitality, and marketing.

Living in QC has given me the opportunity to become an active participant on various committees and eventually becoming an elected board member, serving for two years. I have now represented Robson Corp. on the board for the past five years, with the pleasure of being your board president.

Watching our community grow over these past years from 1,200 to 3,100 homes has been rewarding and fulfilling. The pride in our community is heartwarming, along with the dedication of volunteer resident participation. My hope is that each of you will find your time here welcoming and filled with the opportunity to engage. Who knows—your new best friend might be living right around the corner.
