Dennis Desmond and Alphie Smith
The Quail Creek Billiards Club (QCBC) held its monthly in-house tournament on May 3 in the Billiards Room at the Madera clubhouse. Eleven QCBC members competed in the 10-ball tournament.
The game of 10-ball requires that the player who pockets the 10-ball, after all other balls are pocketed, is the winner. It is a little more complicated than that, but it is a challenging game in that a pocket must be called for each ball being shot.
The winner was Mike Ohrel, second place went to Manny Quijada, and third place was Alphie Smith. Ohrel and Quijada often display their exceptional talent at QCBC tournaments.
Dennis Desmond, QCBC tournament coordinator, felt the event was a “resounding success, demonstrating the camaraderie and skill within our club.” The event went smoothly, and all participants deserve congratulations for their competitive involvement in the tournament.
The next QCBC in-house tournament was held on June 7. It was the popular game of 8-ball.
