Be a Sponsor In Honor of Someone Touched by Cancer

The Quail Creek Fights Back Relay For Life team is seeking sponsorships for the April 2 Green Valley/Sahuarita Relay For Life event that honors cancer survivors and caregivers. From the annual garage sale, jewelry sales, Jim Click ticket sales, and family and friend donations, the team has raised $9,740 toward their $20,000 goal to help fund grants for cancer researchers at the University of Arizona and cancer patient programs through the American Cancer Society.

On April 2, the team will join other teams for the Green Valley/Sahuarita Relay For Life event at Rancho Resort Park at 15900 S. Rancho Resort Blvd., Sahuarita. From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., teams of individuals will walk laps past sponsorship signs and rows of luminaria bags with names and photos of cancer survivors and loved ones lost.

Honor someone for their cancer journey or memorialize someone who has lost their cancer battle. A sign will be displayed April 2 at the relay event depicting the name in memory or in honor of someone touched by cancer. Join with friends and neighbors in a unit to donate an honor or memorial sponsorship in the name of a neighbor. A unit might challenge another unit to raise more dollars for cancer research. Sponsor a family donation to honor and remember family members. Have a sign made in memory of a beloved pet who passed from cancer. Donate to advertise a business to support cancer research.

To request a form to have a sponsor sign made up, contact relay team captain Ginny at [email protected] before March 15. To register for the team, donate to a specific QC relay team member, or order a luminaria bag, go to www.relayforlife.org/gvsahuaritaaz.

To join the team as a survivor or teammate and walk on April 2, sign up for the Quail Creek team.
