Another “Gift of Hope” for the Tucson VA

On December 4, six Quail Creek residents went to the Tucson Veterans Administration Complex to help set up and serve homeless veterans and their families during the VA’s annual holiday turkey dinner. Four of the volunteers were members of The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC), sponsors of the Gift of Hope Clothing Drive held in October.

After the luncheon the Veterans Administration handed out clothing and household items, many of which had been donated during the TWOQC event. TWOQC volunteers helped the veterans locate their size. Veterans could take as many pieces of clothing as they wanted. One of the volunteers was pleased to notice a veteran wearing a ski cap she had knitted and contributed to the clothing drive.

This holiday turkey dinner is an event the homeless veterans look forward to every year and this year was no exception. Close to 200 veterans and their families  attended.
