From October 17 to 19, WWII veterans from the Tucson area will be heading to Washington, DC to see their memorial. Residents are asked to write letters to the veterans traveling on this flight. We may get names later but the Honor Flight team has also requested Dear Vet letters to help ensure that each one on the flights gets an equal number of letters.

Approximately every 90 seconds a WWII veteran dies; most will have never had the opportunity to see the memorial dedicated in their honor. Please send a thank you for those who are able to make the trip acknowledging their service. The letters given during mail call (a secret for those traveling) on the return trip are very meaningful. Please start writing! The letters may be delivered to Kay Robinson, 898 N. Kenneth Drive by October 14. This effort will make a difference in many lives.
