Quail Creek Nurses Spill Secrets in a Round of “Never Have I Ever”

On July 21, the Quail Creek Nurses enjoyed appetizers and drinks at Quail Creek Grill. Hostess Shauna Simmons led the group of sixteen in a lively round of “Never Have I Ever,” with a twist: each member drew a slip from a bag and read the activity aloud, and anyone who had done that activity took a drink.

The game revealed that the group is not very adventurous—not a single nurse had ever gone skydiving or bungee jumping. Several members, however, had ridden a horse, been on a cruise, or attended a Broadway show in Manhattan. The biggest surprise was that a few members had never been to a drive-in movie, having grown up in towns that did not have that nostalgic icon in their area.

The group’s August gathering took place on the 4th, featuring a presentation by our own Linda Kline, RN. Kline, a Certified Eden Method Energy Practitioner, Certified USUI and Holy Fire Reiki Master, and focused-awareness meditation trainer, shared techniques for enhancing relaxation, improving sleep, reducing anxiety, and calming the nervous system. She also leads a weekly Quail Creek meditation circle, held Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Ocotillo Room.

The next monthly gathering will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 1486 E. Dahlia Drive. Joy Bulger-Beck, M.D., Medical Director, GIM, and Geriatrics Clinics at Banner Health and Clinical Associate Professor, University of Arizona—will speak on osteoporosis prevention and treatment. The evening will include a potluck of calcium-rich foods.

Lastly, all active and retired nurses in the Quail Creek community are invited to join the group in 2026. Membership is free, and members are welcome to participate in as many or as few activities as they would like. The group typically meets once a month.
