Spotlight on Advertiser: Pancho’s Resource & Design

Dennis and Lorraine Rowden moved to Tubac in October of 1992—Dennis a transplant from the corporate world and Lorraine from a real estate and interior remodeling career.

In the early 2000s, they met Ron Allred, who had recently purchased the Tubac Golf Resort, and began a working relationship with the extensive remodeling and redesign of the Resort.

They became involved in the furnishing of the 30 existing casitas, restaurant, registration office, and other existing structures. Then came the addition of 60 new casitas, chapel, conference center, Dos Silos Restaurant, spa, etc. They also supplied all the custom architectural elements that went into the new construction. This required a lot of traveling to Mexico to acquire these unique pieces, and the entire project lasted several years.

During this process, Mr. Allred convinced the Rowdens to open a furniture store on the property in the original adobe cow barn from the 1700s. The Rowdens accepted the challenge and “Pancho’s” came into being. Pancho’s remained on site for 15 years and enjoyed a long and memorable time there. About 5 years ago, the store was moved to a smaller location near the Village. It still has the “Pancho’s allure” as they continue to hand-select items from India, Indonesia, Guadalajara, San Miguel, and Morocco. They can also have custom furniture made, which is a rarity these days.

Pancho’s is located one block South of the Village in Plaza de Anza. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. They are also open by appointment. Please call Dennis at 520-440-8908. He looks forward to seeing you!
