It’s a new year, and TWOQC has a new board!

TWOQC Board
Some of these women may be your friends or neighbors, but you might still learn a thing or two about them.
Janet Shropshire, President, fell in love with Quail Creek when she and her husband visited, and they moved here a year later in 2021. An educator for 37 years, she has served TWOQC as president-elect and Director of Membership. She is a unit rep and enjoys paper crafts, basketry, and jewelry, as well as her book club. She is eager to lead the organization in its mission of “… learning, giving, and engaging.”
Joan Brown, President-Elect, came here from Michigan in 2021 and was TWOQC secretary for the past two years. A speaker and published author, Joan has held board positions for various nonprofits, is unit rep for Unit 22E, and is involved in numerous QC activities, including secretary for the Unit Rep Club and Bingo Club. Joan joined TWOQC several years ago because she was impressed with the scope of the organization.
Teresa McMonnies, Secretary, moved to Quail Creek from Colorado in 2024. She and her husband of seven years have a blended family of four children and four grandchildren. Since moving here, she has enjoyed the people she has met, classes at Anza, and activities with her unit. She joined TWOQC and became secretary because of the organization’s mission of charitable and educational activities.
Pat Holmes, Treasurer, moved to Quail Creek with her husband in 2018 and joined TWOQC shortly thereafter. She has over 35 years of accounting experience and was treasurer for several local organizations. She enjoys reading, film, walking, and spending time with her cat Henrietta. She served on TWOQC’s Funding & Giving, Scholarship, and Community Outreach Committees. She assisted TWOQC’s previous treasurer in 2024 and took over in January of 2025.
Nancy Valdez, Director of Membership, moved to Quail Creek from Northern California in 2019. Her career in the non-nursing medical field includes medical transcription, lab management, and operations management for pathology software at a large HMO. She is co-unit rep for Unit 22E and belongs to the Bingo Committee. She loves Quail Creek, and when asked if she’d move back to California, the answer is a resounding, “No”!
Roxanne Housley, Director of Community Outreach, lived in Tucson for 44 years before moving to Quail Creek, where she has been Director of Community Outreach since 2024. She held an executive position for 30 years with Canyon Ranch Health. Roxanne’s favorite activities here include Book Club, Mah Jongg, Glass Studio, Bible Study, and former unit rep. She also serves on the board of Valley Assistance Services.
Deb Melton, Director of Scholarships, moved here from Colorado in 2018. A former teacher, Deb became president of Phoenix NOW, chaired the Education Task Force, and was a Title IX consultant to the Arizona Department of Education. She joined TWOQC and the Scholarship Committee because of her passion for women’s advancement. She held several positions with TWOQC and has been Director of Scholarships since 2024.
Martha Viera Parsons, Director of Programs, has had a diverse career, including event planning, campaign consulting, and her current role as Associate Broker at HomeSmart Advantage Group. Martha is involved in the Quail Creek Social Activities Committee and the Ceramics and Computer Clubs. She is eager to expand the variety of activities available to members and continue making programs interesting, varied, and, most of all, fun!
Inna Shames, Director of Publicity, moved to Quail Creek in 2019. Her background is in sales and marketing in several industries, including textiles, corporate security, and real estate. She joined TWOQC four years ago because she believes in the causes the organization supports, particularly scholarships. She enjoys various art classes, including drawing and scratchboard.
