On Jan. 17 the nurses visited the Presidio State Historic Park and Museum in Tubac. We were thoroughly enthralled and entertained by a lecture/talk from local orator and historian John Lasseter about Women of the Arizona Frontier. He shared multiple stories of women who were integral to both our state and local history. These were a tough and hardy bunch who helped bring civilization to our area. Mr. Lasseter gives talks regularly on a variety of subjects both at the Museum in Tubac as well as the Community Performance & Art Center in Green Valley. It is well worth your time to attend one of his interesting and historical talks. Following the lecture and the museum, we were able to share dinner and fellowship at Wisdom’s Café.
On Feb. 10 we gathered to make a Valentine card under the direction of master card maker Marcia Sobal. In March we are looking forward to a trip to The Gaslight Theater in Tucson to take in a Wild West, melodrama-style show entitled Belle of Tombstone.
Lastly, we want to make sure to invite all nurses in the Quail Creek community to join us in 2026. We are always welcoming new members. There are no membership fees. We typically meet once a month, and nurses can participate in any and all activities that are of interest to them. If you have any questions, contact 2026 Chairperson Janine Baxter at janine_baxter@hotmail.com or 509-919-1399.
