Quail Creek Nurses

Carol Michels

The Nurses of Quail Creek took an adventurous trip out to Jumpin’ Jack Ranch, home of Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary, on Nov. 18. In a 25-acre setting, we observed a peaceful, quiet place for the horses, mules, and donkeys to live out their lives. This all takes place because of the wonderful staff and a large group of volunteers. These animals were unwanted, abused, neglected, abandoned, or slated for slaughter. We had a very informative tour and saw the kindness and proactive, holistic care they use to manage these animals.

Lunch was enjoyed at Shelby’s Bistro in Tubac, a delightful, delicious way to wrap up the day.

The next QC Nurses event was our Holiday Christmas Celebration on Dec. 7. We attended the classic Nutcracker ballet, performed by the Continental Ballet.

We invite all active and retired nurses of Quail Creek to join our club. Contact Janine Baxter at janine_baxter@hotmail.com.
