Local Treasure

One of the real benefits of living in Quail Creek is the proximity to the University of Arizona. Be it medical services, sporting events, museums, or concerts and artistic events, they are all available on campus. But there is one more benefit located even closer to home: Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, or OLLI, at both the Tucson campus and here in Green Valley at CPAC (Community Performing Arts Center).

As another example of COVID-19 impacts, enrollment and volunteers at the Green Valley campus of OLLI declined to the point of potentially eliminating the in-person classes at CPAC. Fortunately, this did not happen—yet. More than 50 classes have been scheduled for the fall semester, running from October through December, 2025. The spring semester, which runs from January through March, also shows a minimum of 50 in-person classes.

Classes are taught by a range of instructors, including volunteer experts, U of A professionals, and Pima Community College instructors, and cover a wide range of topics: Astronomy and the Night Sky, Mah Jongg, How to Invest in Today’s Market, History of the Southwest, and many, many more. There is surely something of interest for everyone.

Please check out the OLLI website at olli.arizona.edu to see all the information, how to join, what are the classes and the schedule, what are the costs, and can I teach a class? Learning never stops, so check out this great local resource.
