Getting out of the Arizona heat on Aug. 19, 10 nurses put their fingers and hands together and made some cute and fun origami boxes. The nurses started off sipping on some root beer floats, followed by the box assembly. The group ended the afternoon with a book exchange. Walking back out in the sunny heat, everyone had a good book under their arm and a newly assembled origami box. Oh, not to mention some good conversation and laughs with our nursing friends.
Our next event is on Sept. 19 at 8 a.m. at Desert Meadows Park in Green Valley. Dean Curd, president of GVR Tai Chi Arts Club, will lead us in a Tai Chi demonstration. Breakfast will follow at Posada Java. All active and retired nurses are invited to join us.
