In early July, 14 women of The Women of Quail Creek’s small group In My Kitchen gathered for a warm and meaningful summer picnic luncheon, hosted by Pam Hartwell-James and Cyndee Bruns, where delicious food and heartfelt service came together in perfect harmony!
The menu featured clever and festive bites, including savory taco cups baked in muffin pans using crisp wonton wrappers, accompanied by a vibrant “red, white, and blueberry” coleslaw salad, all followed by rich brownies for dessert.
Beyond the good food and friendly conversation, the group also focused on giving back. Attendees were introduced to the Honor Flight letter-writing campaign, an initiative to send messages of appreciation and encouragement to veterans taking part in the next Southern Arizona Honor Flight this November. Letters were available for guests to take home and fill out, ensuring that each veteran on the flight would feel the appreciation of a grateful community.
It was indeed an afternoon filled with laughter, patriotism, and purpose!
