The Women of Quail Creek’s small group In My Kitchen got together for an incredibly tasty International Appetizer Day Party at the home of hostess Martha Parsons on April 19. And if there is no such holiday officially, there really should be!
The menu could not have been more fun! The assortment of delicious appetizers included bloody Mary deviled eggs (deviled eggs were first recorded in Ancient Rome, while the bloody Mary made its debut in 1920s Paris), yummy nachos (Mexican, of course), a crab mold (possibly Scandinavian in origin), and Chinese BBQ pork from (you guessed it) China!
No one was hungry, and everyone was smiling by the time it was all done, proving, of course, that food and smiles are, indeed, both international languages!
