RV Club Happenings

In April, 21 rigs (RVs) from the Quail Creek RV Club enjoyed five days at Lost Dutchman State Park located at the foot of Superstition Mountain, above Phoenix. The scenery is beautiful, with the mountain right in front of us.

Our weather went from cold (64 degrees) to hot (91 degrees) in just five days. The group participated in many different activities, including hiking, biking, museum and arboretum visits, golfing, and, most fun of all, socializing, eating and drinking, and making friends! Nearby Goldfield Ghost Town and Tortilla Flats are always fun places to visit and have lunch. One day we took a relaxing two-hour boat ride on the Dolly Steamboat on Canyon Lake. And there was a delightful visit to a unique place called Organ Stop Pizza featuring the world’s largest organ. They play popular tunes on it for 45 minutes every hour—definitely worth experiencing.

Club RV trips are planned by any member who volunteers to run a trip. They can be short or long, near or far. We usually do two to four trips during the winter season. The next trip is planned for Oct. 8-14 to Catalina State Park. While there, we’ll plan to attend a couple of Gaslight Theatre concerts in Oro Valley and a visit to Top Golf.

The RV Club meets the first Tuesday of the month from September through May in the Madera clubhouse Silver Room at 4 p.m. If you have an RV or are thinking of getting one, come to a meeting. Or fill out a membership form found in the Madera hallway. RVers, in general, are friendly, outgoing folks!
