Have you ever wondered how they make the piñatas for Mexican festivities? Well, on Jan. 17, 11 very curious members of The Women of Quail Creek (TWOQC) participated in a TWOQC On-the-Go Excursion to Tucson to find out. They visited Piñata Factory, a family-owned company going back three generations, and were treated to an amazing “behind the scenes” experience in the shop where the piñatas are actually created. They learned what a true art it is to make all the incredible creations they construct—everything from birthday cakes, Spiderman, donkeys, and even Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
Attending this fun event were Judy White, Diane Marcotte, Susan Neely, DeeDee McKee, Karen Woodrow, Cathy Leary, Brenda Rock, Laura Pelz, Ann Brooks, Tracy Campbell, and Jean Tittle.
The tour was followed by lunch a few blocks away at Opa’s Grill, a Greek-American restaurant serving delicious pita sandwiches, spanakopita, and salads. And the wonderful service topped off a perfect day!
Co-leaders of this TWOQC On-the-Go excursion were Karen Woodrow and Brenda Rock.
