The Women of Quail Creek’s Community Outreach Team extends their sincere appreciation to all who so generously supported the Salvation Army’s Giving Tree project. With the in-kind gifts for youth between the ages of 11 and 17, coupled with the monetary donations, 93 teens and pre-teens received at least three gifts because of your generosity.
When Holly Faris, Social Services coordinator at the Green Valley Salvation Army office, thanked the members for their generosity, she said she actually gave the club what had been the most difficult job in the past—buying gifts for teens. It seems most people prefer to buy toys for younger children who like cuddly or animated toys.
The Outreach Committee’s job was made easier because the teens who registered with the Salvation Army’s Giving Tree project also listed items they would like to receive. Your donations were especially appreciated because the teens got what they asked for.
