The November meeting of the QC Republican Club was well attended. Guest speakers were Arizona Corporation Commission candidate Rachel Walden and Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels.
Rachel grew up working in finance and business, which led to a career with Vanguard, managing the institutional accounts for some of the most recognized companies in America. She is also a member of the Governing Board for Mesa Public Schools, the largest school district in the state.
Her campaign agenda puts Arizonans first, stops Green New Deal policies, supports reliable and affordable utilities, and no mandates or subsidies. She is endorsed by Chairman Jim O’Connor, Commissioners Kevin Thomson and Nick Myers, and former Commissioner Justin Olson.
Sheriff Mark Dannels was elected Sheriff of Cochise County in 2012 and was re-elected in 2016. He is a 39-year veteran of law enforcement. He has received numerous accolades and awards throughout his career.
He describes the situation at the border as “dire straits.” His border concerns and requests have gone mostly without response from the Biden Administration. Despite this, he has been able to make significant progress in booking thousands of border crimes and smuggler activity and identifying illegal “gotaways.” In 2022 his department seized 500,000 fentanyl pills. He is dedicated to serving all people and is known as “A Sheriff for All People.”
The next meeting of the Republican Club will be the annual Christmas Wine and Cheese Party and membership meeting. This event is complimentary and only open to 2023 paid members. The event will be on Dec. 14 at the Madera Clubhouse Crystal Ballroom.
The QC Republican Club continues to bring dynamic, informed speakers to Quail Creek, along with fun, educational events. For more information about our club and its activities and events, please visit the website www.quailcreekrepublicans.com.
