The Quail Creek Semper Fi Club (QCSFC) is an association of Marines dedicated to bring together retired, active, veterans, and friends of the Marine Corps to continue the traditions of service for community, country, and corps.
Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, your club board members are conducting quarterly meetings via Zoom video conferencing to ensure we continue the club’s business. The minutes of the meetings can be found on the Quail Creek Semper Fi Club website (see below).
With the Marine Corps birthday on the horizon, tentative plans are being made with full consideration of the COVID-19 limitations on gatherings. We will communicate the status of the celebration activities via email to our members and through our website. On a positive note, Steve Sanford, our club president, has arranged for Lt. General Mike Dana to be our next birthday honored guest and guest speaker. Lt. General Dana held many logistic command assignments to include Deputy Commandant for Installations and Logistics. Retiring in 2019, General Dana is currently an integration expert with KSA Integration in Tucson. We look forward to his attendance and presentation.
Some of us, during our military service, have deployed around holidays—necessitating an early or late holiday celebration in order to be with family. The club board also is considering celebrating the birthday later, if the current limitations on gatherings are still required come November 10. Considering the current environment, Marine Corps birthday planning will need to remain flexible.
For those that play golf, we are scheduling some golf days for members to get together, allowing for all COVID-19 limitations. We also are coordinating with the Quail Creek Veteran’s Golf Association to be included in any golf days they schedule.
We encourage all marines who are not currently members to visit our web page and please join. This will ensure you receive all communications from the QCSFC board pertaining to the birthday celebration, as well as other events.
