On Tuesday, Feb. 11, 50 Quail Creek Republicans boarded a bus to Phoenix to visit Arizona GOP headquarters and tour the Arizona State Capitol building. State GOP Executive Director, Greg Safsten, updated our members on all the activities occurring at the state level to ensure that Arizona remains RED in the 2020 elections. During his presentation, our Republican group enjoyed a catered lunch provided by Sauce. We then proceeded to the Arizona Capitol for a private session with Senate President Karen Fann and Senators Vince Leach and David Gowan. Senator Gowan treated several members to a tour of the Capitol and museum, while other members attended a live Senate session and Education Committee hearings. We returned to Quail Creek after an educational, fun-filled, and memorable day.
The shutdown of facilities at Quail Creek due to Covid-19 did not deter the Quail Creek Republican Club from producing its first live-streamed meeting on Friday, March 20. President Shelley Kais welcomed viewers to the meeting presented live on YouTube and introduced four candidates running for office in the August primary, and November general elections—Joseph Morgan, candidate for U.S. Congress; Debra McEwen, candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives; Bill Bracco, candidate and member of the Sahuarita City Council; and Rich Ulery, candidate for the Continental Elementary School Board. Arizona Corp. Commission candidate, Kim Owens, also prepared a video presentation. Viewers were able to ask questions of the candidates live and online. If you didn’t have the opportunity to view the meeting live, you can access it on the QCRC website at www.quailcreekrepublicans.com. Our club will present the April 17 meeting via YouTube again, if Quail Creek facilities remain closed. Stay tuned!
