The Quail Creek Cool Car Club has announced the details of the upcoming season noting that there’s something for everyone. Back for the new season will be three popular events: March Road Rally (Charity Fund Raiser), April Car Show (Charity Fund Raiser) and the season closer mini golf competition and steak dinner. There are also two overnight road trips to new venues and activities.
Here’s the schedule:

Our first stop will be a group tour of the Titan Missile Museum. After the tour we’ll drive a short distance to the Desert Sky Cinema where we’ll enjoy a private showing of Dr. Strangelove, a Cold War classic with Peter Sellers and George C. Scott. We’ll have pizza during the film.
Tuesday-Thursday November 6-8, 2018: Sedona “Plus” Tour, Sedona Area
Lots to see and do. Oak Creek “Walk” at Crescent Moon Ranch to see Cathedral Rock, Old Town Cottonwood, Tuzigoot Ruins, Ride the Verde Canyon Railroad, Scenic Drive down Hwy 179 and Visit Tlaquepaque – Sedona’s art, shopping and dining destination.
Monday, December 3, 2018: Tanque Verde Ranch – Lunch and Trail Ride, Tucson
In December we’ll have lunch at the ranch then saddle up for a trail ride.

On this outing we’ll drive to the western terminus of the Tucson Street Car line for a ride to the University of Arizona campus where we’ll visit the Richard F. Caris Mirror Laboratory. Here a team of scientists and engineers are making giant, lightweight mirrors of unprecedented power for a new generation of optical telescopes. Lunch at “The Dutch” will follow.

Our second overnight road trip will have something for everyone. Golfers will play one of the courses at Gold Canyon. Not a golfer? Join a group that will tour the Goldfield Ghost Town with lots of attractions. The next morning we’ll drive to Canyon Lake for a Steamboat Tour.
Saturday, March 9, 2019: Annual Road Rally – benefits charity
Test your team work and navigation skills on a rally course with new scenery, check points and challenges. One of the season’s most popular events. Top teams recognized, first place plaque awarded and a prize raffle held during lunch.
Sunday, April 7, 2019: Quail Creek Car Show – benefits charity; Quail Creek
This is a well-organized event that reaches out to an audience much broader than the Quail Creek Cool Car Club and features many nicely restored classic automobiles. Best of all it benefits worthy causes. Put your car in the show.

We’ll close the season with a mini golf competition followed by a nice steak dinner in Tucson’s “Trail Dust Town.”
