The Women of Quail Creek will learn of the diversity of olive oils at their program April 24. Rocio Cespedes Patel, owner of Tubac Olive Oil Company, will present information about the oils and other products offered at the popular Tubac store. Patel, who has lived in Tubac for eight years, is expected to help cooks understand the differences in olive oils as well as their best use in preparation. She will also bring samples for the audience to experience.
The Tubac Olive Oil Company store offers a taste-testing center where guests are able to sample oils and balsamic vinegars from around the world. Included is such variety as oils produced in Italy and Morocco as well as balsamic vinegar from Modena, Italy. The store houses a variety of oils like the Tubac House Blend Olive Oil and a range of uniquely flavored oils such as bacon olive oil and blood orange olive oil. In total, Tubac Olive Oil Company has 76 varieties of olive oil as well as seven grilling oils. They also produce both white and dark balsamic vinegars in more than seventy varieties.
Also taking place at this program will be TWOQC’s semi-annual collection for the Community Food Bank. Members and guests attending the program are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to help meet the ever present needs of the Green Valley/Sahuarita branch of the Food Bank.
