Quail Creek welcomes a new club that will be included in the new Quail Creek Fine Arts and Technology Center. The planning committee for the Quail Creek Fine Arts Painting Club has been meeting for the past two months to create this new fine arts offering for Quail Creek residents. The initial introductory meeting will take place on October 30, Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Room of the current Arts and Tech Building. This meeting is being planned to describe the new club, its mission and the many activities and classes to be offered. New members will be welcomed. You can sign up to become a member and learn about this exciting new club.
Officers for the club are Debbie O’Rourke, president, Steve Piepmeier, vice president and founder, Jean Pastore, treasurer and Lee Asbell, secretary. Each of these officers and planning committee members, Peggy Kimes, Mike Spanopoulos, Frederick Ric Reed, Joyce Finn, Jim Hall, Darlene Bricker, Carolyn Solomon and Patricia Thoresen have proven their passion about the fine arts by spending countless hours ordering equipment, setting up by-laws, policies and procedures and committees that will frame the structure for a smoothly operated club. New members can join and begin to enjoy the many activities of the club right away.
Classes in many painting media and drawing, along with plein-air outings, demonstration days, art exhibits of members work, club website, cultural field trips and open studio time each week are being planned. Open studio time is being scheduled in the Fine Arts Room for November and December. Watch for schedules in the daily announcements in What’s Happening.
The Quail Creek Fine Arts Painting Club invites all residents to attend the informational meeting. New members, from beginners to any level of skill and interest, are encouraged to join and further their skills and knowledge of painting. Save the date, October 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Room in the Arts and Technology Building. For further information contact club President Debbie O’Rourke at 268-1020 or email [email protected].
