On Tuesday, January 21 the Computer Club had its monthly program Ten Easy Ways to Mess Up a Computer held in the ballroom at 7:00 p.m. It was a full house with much anticipation to learn what not to do with your computer. If anyone would like to get a copy of the Joe Busboom’s handout, email [email protected] for a copy.
February: Cutting the Cable: topic has proven quite popular to Quail Creek residents in the past. The program will offer information on how to save money on cable or satellite charges by using new technology to bring television programming to residents’ TVs, often making it possible to lower or eliminate cable costs. Amazingly, the technology that enables transferring content from computers to TVs has changed enough year after year that each of the Cutting the Cable programs has been different. The speaker, David Andersen, is very knowledgeable on this subject and will be glad to take questions during and after the presentation. Mark your calendar for this special date Thursday, February 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
March: Traveling with Technology: Paul Jaffe will give a presentation on using current technology for travel arrangements such as booking hotels, cars and air travel; checking flight status en route; taking a portable Wi-Fi hotspot along for the ride; saving money on travel costs; choosing mobile phone data plans for travel abroad; using technology to stay in touch with home; employing cloud services to save space on mobile devices while traveling and much more.
Monthly educational programs are held at 7:00 p.m. in the ballroom on the third Tuesday of every month except February and summer months. The programs are open to all Quail Creek residents. Feel free to come and bring friends and guests with you!
Anyone thinking of joining the Computer Club can sign up at this and any meeting. There are many classes for members to learn more about Apple, Android, iPad, Windows 7 and 8, plus Help Clinics.
