Independent judges selected the best photos from among the Photography Club’s monthly contest winners.
Shari Rodgers won first place with Mellow Yellow, a back-lit photo of a flower and a bee. Shari said she did not notice the ladybug until she got home and examined the image. One of the judges noted the exceptional color contrast and the life that the bee gives to the image.
Tom Cadwalader won second place with 3 Ponies, an image of equines in Oostvaardersplassen, Netherlands, that are used to help create a natural ecosystem. One of the judges commented that the image is “well composed,” with “nice leading lines.”
Denny Huber won third place with A Simple Plastic Cup, which shows distortion of a colorful table cover created by a cup of water. One of the judges noted the “great use of distortion and lines.”
