This year’s Copper Quail Classic (Quail Creek Ladies Golf Association member/guest tournament) was held on April 9, 10, and 11. The theme this year was “Disco Party,” with a total of 128 participants and 50% of the field getting payouts!
It began with a practice round on April 9, followed by appetizers and beverages provided outside the Pro Shop. The Horse Race then took place afterwards. Congratulations to the winners: 1st place Robin Brannan and Cheryl Dietz, 2nd place Brandee Hogg and Beth Wrigley, 3rd place Stacia Sower and Sue Kemnitzer. This event would not have been possible without the numerous volunteers, as well as support from the Pro Shop. Many thanks to Director of Golf Josh Wilks and Horse Race Chairperson Bobbi Jo Rathvon.
On day two we played Best Ball format, which was followed by a delicious dinner at the Madera clubhouse ballroom. The banquet staff was, as always, incredible. After dinner, a DJ provided a variety of ’70s music for the ladies, and many stayed for the Disco Dance Party!
On day three we played Partner Chapman Scotch format, followed by a luncheon. After lunch, all flighted awards and Overall Gross and Overall Net winners were announced. Each participant received a pair of hand-painted sunglasses, a custom Copper Quail Classic logoed cutting board, and a large disco water bottle. A professional team photo was also given to each member and their guest. We would like to thank Jeff Krueger for doing such a great job of putting all these together.
Overall Low Gross Winners: Brandee Hogg and Beth Wrigley, team gross score 143
Overall Low Net Winners: Alicia Hiller and Christy Tinsley, team net score 131
Director of Golf Josh Wilks graciously extended the Pro Shop hours for our ladies to use their winnings and do some shopping.
Six players won Closest to the Pin: Tracy Bresnahan, Susan McCune, Tammy Tinsley, Kat Sundberg, Bonny Wilcox, and Donna Wood. Sponsors were Alicia Hiller-Coldwell Banker Realty and Donald Ehrlich-Farmers Insurance.
Once again, the Money Tree was a huge success, with 10 lucky winners walking away with a portion of $1,800. Each of them received their winnings in a sparkly silver disco purse. Congratulations to all of those winners.
