Few things are more rewarding than experiencing the joy of tradition during the holiday season. We will celebrate again this year with a special occasion which we hope will become one of your family’s traditions. On Sunday, December 8, Ballet Tucson hosts its 13th annual Sugar Plum Tea benefit at the elegant Marriott Tucson University Park Hotel. Sugar plum visions will become an extraordinary reality as the ballroom is transformed into a magical holiday wonderland. Enjoy high tea in a festive holiday setting and savor scrumptious scones, tasty pastries and other distinctive delights for the whole family. Live musical entertainment will be provided by harpist Dr. Christine Vivona and The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus. Adding to the atmosphere will be an exceptional holiday marketplace and a silent auction of seasonal treasures. Ballet Tucson’s talented dancers will perform excerpts from The Nutcracker, including a narration of the beloved story complete with familiar characters from the ballet. The Sugar Plum Tea is a prelude to Ballet Tucson’s production of The Nutcracker, the beloved holiday classic voted Best Dance Production in Tucson Weekly’s Best of Tucson five years in a row. Sugar Plum Tea will be held Sunday, December 8 with seatings at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Ballet Tucson. The tea will take place at Marriott Tucson University Park, 880 E. 2nd Street in Tucson. Complimentary parking will be at University of Arizona Main Gate Garage at 2nd Street and Euclid Ave. Ticket price is $75.00 per person. The Nutcracker will be held at Centennial Hall on Saturday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available through Centennial Hall Ticket Office at www.uapresents.org and by phone at 520-621-3341.
