Thank you, Quail Creek, for helping raise $20k to fight cancer

Thanks to the residents of Quail Creek for their participation and support of the Quail Creek Fights Back Relay For Life team the American Cancer Society will receive $20,000 for cancer research, patient education, programs and advocacy. The Relay team held a November 2015 garage sale that raised $3,800 from items donated by Quail Creek residents. Three hundred women attended the February 2016 luncheon/style show hosted by The Women of Quail Creek together with the Relay team. Thanks to the Quail Creek Clubs and residents who donated raffle prizes, those who attended, worked and shopped at the luncheon, this event brought in $7,200 to help fight cancer.

Twenty-eight Quail Creek team members joined nine other teams at the Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse on April 9 to walk from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in honor of cancer survivors and in memory of those who lost the cancer battle. During the day the teams celebrated more cancer survivor birthdays with music, dancing, games and food. After dark, lighted luminaria bags listing names of individuals touched by cancer lined the track while teams walked listening to the names read out loud.
