On April 13, 2019 the Green Valley Gardeners will be having their Spring Garden Tour and Art-in-the-Park festival from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Garden Tour is a self-guided tour of five gardens in Green Valley.
Tickets for the tour went on sale March 1, 2019 at the Green Valley Gardeners website (greenvalleygardeners.com) or at the Chamber of Commerce, Desert Bloom, Native Gardens, The Happy Quail and Nancy Pantz for $12 per ticket. They will also be available at Desert Meadows Park (999 S la Huerta) the day of the tour. Tickets contain a map and directions to each garden.
Enjoy the diverse selection of gardens with something to appeal to everyone. The gardens range in size, style and types of plantings. Featured in the gardens are a selection of cactus and succulents, lush flowering perennials, creative use of pots, interesting hard scape and artwork incorporated in the gardens. Included are examples of water harvesting and electronically monitored irrigation.
Come enjoy the beauty and variety of the gardens which include lots of color to spice up springtime. Listen to musicians playing at various times in several gardens. Learn about plants and gardening and get ideas to use in your own garden. Each garden has knowledgeable hosts available to answer your questions.
Make a day of it; tour the gardens and visit the Art-in-the-Park festival at Desert Meadows Park. Enjoy lunch from one of the food trucks at the park, enjoy some jazz, shop the various plant and garden art vendors and visit the silent auction with items donated by local artists. There is no admission cost for Art in the Park events.
