Twelve members of the Quail Creek Men’s Golf Association recently played in the Pima Cup season-ending playoff tourney. Participants were from five golf clubs in the Tucson area, including Quail Creek. Others were El Conquistador, Crooked Tree, Forty Niner, and Highlands. The tourney was played at the Tucson National Catalina course, one of the finest in Southern Arizona. The El Conquistador team was the overall cup winner, but several Quail Creek players did well. Craig Parsons and Norm Waters won closest-to-the pin prizes. Rick Sutton and Roger Oravetz paired to tie for first place in Flight C, while Shel Zatkin and Ralph Scafuri were third in Flight B. All players seemed to enjoy their golf round, as well as the plated lunch and prize awards ceremony afterward.
